Barney and Friends, also referred to by HiT Entertainment as Barney the Friendly Dinosaur, is an independent children's television show produced in the United States, aimed at children from ages 1–8.
The series, which first aired in 1992, features the title character Barney, a purple anthropomorphic Tyrannosaurus rex who conveys learning through songs and small dance routines with a friendly, optimistic attitude.
Lovato portrayed the character Angela on the show.

- In a 2013 interview, Demi Lovato talked about how appearing on Barney & Friends helped her deal with bullying and suicidal thoughts. It was on the set of Barney & Friends where Lovato met longtime best friend and actress Selena Gomez, who portrayed Gianna in seasons 7-8.
